Marry the one you love, the one you trust and cherish. Marry the one that makes you strong because she believes in you, and that makes you a better man because you wish to give her more than you may receive.
If she happens to be a lawyer, a nurse, a teacher or a scientist will not change any of this.
from my experience and my opinion if you can know which research area you will success and this depend on you personal character and it will be easy to chose your partner researcher or non-researcher because you know what you know so your choice will be so easy
You should make your choice based exclusively on LOVE. Don´t forget that a job does not make you a good or a bad person. The only thing that unites people all around the world is this feeling (love), my friend. Nothing else...
First of all, this is a nice and logical question.. I'm currently a doctoral student and a bachelor as well.. So, based on my perspective, I have two options: of having a researcher or a non-researcher as my life partner.. To have a successful married life, the most important thing is to have compatibility between the partners and the ability to support each other unconditionally.. With a researcher life partner one can spend a lot of quality time talking about research and ways to innovate and excel in their respective research areas.. This can potentially increase the compatibility and supporting sense between the partners via a synergistic approach.. However, in this case ego and jealousy can play a deterrent role.. This is where a non-researcher life partner can prove to be superior.. In this case, sense of ego and jealousy is less likely to creep in the married life; but a non-researcher life partner's tendency to often non-understand or non-realize one's hectic schedule can bring in undue and illogical disturbances. Most importantly, a partner should have the quality to atleast try to understand one's personal and professional attributes. This partner can be a researcher or a non-researcher, which matters the least.. What is most important is that one should choose a partner based on one's basic nature.. A person with good human attributes will always be my most desirable life partner..

Depends on how you define "successful scientist". If your criteria "publications" - then probably marrying the main editor of a high-impact journal could be beneficial. If your criteria "money" - liaison with a business-related person from big pharma could be kind of helpful. And when your criteria "unfold yourself in creative research process" implying harmonized work-life balance, then, as Raphael mentioned, only love and support from a nearest-standing person matters, regardles of his/her job ;)..

Just like the other researchers' comments, you should marry based on love. But sometimes I think it would also be good to have a researcher as a partner because he/she would understand that unlike other people who always have time to spare, researchers barely have time to eat, sleep and rest. But yeah, if someone really LOVES you no matter if he/she is not a researcher, he/she will try to understand you. I guess just find an ALONE TIME (meaning time dedicated with the partner)

in partner choose no one can help you because no one can see what you see inside your self and the other side (your partner ) . every one looking for happiness and it translate according to your believes happiness can be in money , love , sex , science ,success,more and more meaning so i think any one can choose his partner according to his own happiness ( with life and human no rules )
It is good idea that a researcher marries a researcher in one course. because they can help together, but when do they live with together?!
