if you use the DMSO above the optimum concentration in this case it does not make any difference, you have to be sure that you do not go over the optimum concentration which is normally in around 2.5 % ( final concentration )
The different grades depends on the final usage of your sloution.
If you want to solubilise your drug and test it on microorganisms, you need to dissolve in 10% so that the final concentration in the medium will be around 2.5%. At this concentration the DMSO is inactive on the microbial strains. Higher than this concentration it inhibits the growth of microorganisms.
