I use Spotfire, which has broader functionality and more flexibility according to a review I read about Tableau. (see link: http://bitools.org/tableau-software/) It looks like a great tool for visualizations, but is limited in some of the basic analytic functionality available in Spotfire.

Thank you for the tip. In fact, i always missed a set of statistical tools in Tableau. In my opinion, they are striving to turn the app more "friendly" and leaving aside the functionality improvement. It's a pity!
