I think that's the wrong question, you need an E.coli strain that is susceptible to what antibiotic?

Antibiotics are permeable, the bacterial just have resistence mechanisms.

I agree with Shen-An Hwang. Why do you think permeability is your issue?

Yet, in some cases antibiotic resistance is due to less permeable membrane. You can try and add low concentration of ethanol to increase permeability.

Hi All,

I found a paper that has the e. coli AS19(rlmAi-). It is drug permeable to macrolides. The paper doesn't mention (or the references) where the strain comes from. I know that isn't much more info, but I hope that helps.
