I am writing a report and I have ran two Pearson correlations between two sets of variables and they are both not significant suggesting no evidence of a linear relationship between the variables in each set. In my introduction I have explained that I will set out to test the difference between two correlations however as neither are significant in the first place I'm not sure whether comparing the correlations will provide meaningful insights.

I am wondering does anyone know how I should report this in my results or discussion or is there any example of a paper which has found this and how they reported that they did not continue with analyses
