PC1 is a huge (4300aa) membrane protein and the only really decent antibody is not commercially available. Has anyone used a commercially available antibody to blot these proteins? If so, by which method and how successful were you?
One PC1 commercial monoclonal antibody is available from Santa Cruz, which is originally generated by Dr. Peter Harris. Unfortunately it is only used for WB. Endogenous PC1 expression level is generally very low in adult. PC1 can be cleaved at a few sites makes detection more difficult. Some antibodies have been recently developed by Baltimore PKD core. You may ask Drs. Feng Qian or Terry Watnick. PC2 detection is relatively easy. Good luck.
