I am writing an article on this topic and cannot find that much research in the Humanities. There are a lot of sources in the sciences and biomedical sciences but very little on the Humanities.
There is a book, Humanities and the Renaissance ed. Zachary Schiffman. Within that book you will find an essay by Jacob Burckhardt titled, "The Civilization of the Renaissance in Italy," and other essays by Charles Nauert, Hannah Gray, Johan Huizinga, and a few others that I can't recall right now. The essays are about the humanities, or the studia humanitatis. Jacob Burckhardt said that the studia humanitatis was a type of ethics. I don't know if this will help you or not, but I think the essays will contain some information that you may be looking for and find helpful.
I am working on differences and similarities in publication ethics issues among various disciplines, for example, is redundant publication the same sort of issue in the Humanities as it is in the Sciences or is there real differences that make the issue distinct and different?
