in our experience buprenorphine starts working after 20 to 60 minutes. if there is still any active agonist (heroine, methadone, morphine, ...) thats the time, when withdrawl symptomes start.

Thank you Fakhrul for sharing the articles. It is very interesting the article by Vadivelu that mentioned that the onset is 5-15 min for iv buprenorphine whereas most clinicians believe that it takes more than 30 min for it's effects to be seen.
What is the reason for the discrepancy?

Do you have experience with chronic administration of intrathecal buprenorphine?
From our experience, we measured the BUP's onset around 30 minutes after IV injection .
How did you measure the onset of effect Lucie. Did you do an EEG look at the Bispectral index?
