I wish to know how older spots of commassie stained gel can be identified. I have older gels more than six months. I was not able to identify through MALDI-TOF. Meanwhile I was able to know the spots of the fresh gel through this. I would like to add that I stored all gels in 1% glycerol. Can anybody suggest the best protocol which can be helpful for me? And also what solution I use for gels storage in future identification purpose?
