There is a firm relationship among epilepsy, sex hormones and AEDs. Seizure frequency increases in pregnancy that might be due to certain reasons related to drug pharmacokinetics/ and or noncompliance, or may be the drug dose is less than the required (and hence the blood levels of the drug). Do you think it a cause of seizure exacerbation in pregnancy?

The physiology of a pregnant woman is rather different from a non-pregnant. For this I think that seizure exacerbation during pregnancy would be due to the change in the pharmacokinetics of drugs rather than noncompliance. Of course, the right dose is the first thing to think of in terms of pharmacokinetics.
