Long before there were books, teachers or internet, people wondered about the nature of the cUniverse. They sat down and took their sincere questions deep inside - they were patient and then one day Mother Nature began to whisper answers. Many of the holy texts are written from this perspective - in India these people were known as Rishis, philosophers, yogis and seers. The ṛiṣhis are not so much the authors of the truths recorded in the Vedas as the seers who were able to discern the eternal truths by raising their life-spirit to the plane of universal spirit. They are the pioneer researchers in the realm of the spirit and other aspects of life. They might not have received a Nobel Prize, but the knowledge they imparted is priceless.
We too can elevate our life-spirit if our heart is sincere. When scientists begin to do this, I feel it is when there will be new bursts in science....
Dear RG members: I clarify further my above given question, ‘how to have creative and innovative thinking’ by the views of two of my mentors (both Nobel Laureates in Medicine/ Physiology):
1. I raised a similar question a long ago to Prof. Sir John Eccles, and he suggested me for having wide scientific and technical knowhow in various areas and concentrating deeply in the area of interest and topic of research. He emphasized and explained more on thinking and how to acquire the habit of thinking and imagining for certain perspective. He gave me the examples of two of his teachers (an Austrian British philosopher Prof Karl Popper & his Mentor in Physiology- the Father of Physiology- Prof Sir Charles Scott Sherrington and their research approaches. To understand the creative and innovative thinking, Professor Eccles told me once he tried to hypothesize intuitively without rational thoughts like Prof Santiago Ramón Cajal used to do, but could not get success. He then explained that beside knowledge, skills, experience and zest, intuition and the nature of a person is much more involved in accepting, perceiving, comprehending (immediate apprehension) and manifesting the creative thoughts and imaginations. He considered Cajal a rare human being having that intuitional status. He explained in detail in his famous book, ‘Facing Reality’.
2.My question to Prof George H. Hitchings was how to have creative and innovative thinking of high level to carry out research investigation and innovations and receive the highest prize- Nobel Prize. (Prof Hitchings was not a Nobel Laureate at that time, and considering his high impact thinking approaches/ innovations and research investigations, I presented him my prediction that he will be a future Nobel Laureate. Late in 1988, George shared Nobel Prize with Sir James Black and his student Gertrude Elion). The reply of George was: Get enough knowhow in various subjects of study (like chemistry, physics, biology, math, psychology, sociology, philosophy, literature, neurology, pulmonology, cardiology etc etc) and high level of scientific and technical knowledge in the area / topic of your research; especially you should have much more expertise than an expert engineer in using the instrument or working with the technique involved in your research.
I wish the above given two examples help further understanding my question.
To understand it further, I wait for the views and suggestion of our respected RG members.
Thank you Dr Emad for your nice reply. What I understood from your comments is that RG and making interaction with the RG members who have a variety of general, educational, research and other areas surely provide guidance and enlarge general awareness, technical knowledge/ approaches and new understanding/ interpretation.

Thank you for your comments and suggestions. Indeed, it is important to explain the emergence and source of creativity and innovative thinking in the perspective of consciousness/ spiritual studies. But my this question is entirely for the current and coming generation scientists for acquiring the creative and innovative approaches for further advancement in science and technology. This indeed is more materialistic approach but still descending toward the unity and depth for understanding the consciousness.
My suggestion is that let the modern scientists search in their own way so that the descending approach hopefully joins the transcending consciousness approach some day. This will serve a unification of normal (scientific) and paranormal (consciousness) approaches. However, this unified aspect will still be a manifestation of the ultimate wisdom of Creator.
I think we are saying the same thing - I feel the philosophers of old were mystics but they also applied their capacity for inner listening to problems of a more "material nature"- (but in the end, as all forms are a manifestation of Spirit, this distinction is not that important) I feel the mystical scientist is not so far off and I really feel that when this occurs, science will once again take a big step forward. I say this for several reasons, the main being it will change our educational system which will in turn change our society.
In my opinion, this becomes easier when we seek inspiration for new studies in the context of the lines of research we prioritize. In my case, as soon as a study is in progress, I'm looking to look at what other variables may result in a new investigation! It is certainly not such a simple task and moments of reflection are needed. Still, acting under pressure does not help at all in these cases.
Yes, you are right. We are saying the same thing. Sure, all forms are a manifestation of Spirit. Psychical Science is a very interesting and amazing area. I think, we can raise a separate question about the creativity and innovation in the perspective of Parasciences or Spiritual Sciences.
Einstein once said that "Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think". So, the more we think/imagine, the more we develop positive intuitions which can be applied for creation and innovation.
Summer is the time for internships and summer jobs for many students, and it is also a great time to work on your creative thinking and innovation skills so you’ll be in good shape to get that dream job after graduation.
Creative thinking is not a talent, it is a skill that can be learnt. It empowers people by adding strength to their natural abilities which improves teamwork, productivity and where appropriate profits – Edward de Bono
To develop your creative thinking, you need to know how to get your creative juices out. You can do this by:
I feel that innovative thinking can come from our dreams - they can alert us that we are onto something that needs to be pursued or an idea we are working on needs to be understood from a certain angle.
