Beside learning and enhancing our awareness, raising RG questions is to provide guidance to others as well. What you think are the major advantages we acquire or provide by this way?
I can think of several reasons why I enjoy reading, responding, and asking questions on Research Gate. First, it gives me an idea of what is being discussed in other parts of the world. We tend to reside in rather narrow situations, and new ideas or new ways of viewing problems is refreshing. Secondly, the range of opinion is very helpful. Seeing what others are doing, being able to access reports, conference papers, published documents is made very easy. Finally, the ability to contact other scientists, who may have ideas similar to yours, is easily done. Joining in this global community has been very helpful to me.
is a social networking site for scientists and researchers to share papers, ask and answer questions. According to some opinions it is the largest academic social network in terms of active users. so I think it is very useful for us
I fully agree with the answers of all colleagues. I would just like to add that knowing and exchanging opinions and comments also on socio-cultural issues stimulates curiosity, reflection and helps the understanding of very different cultures, archetypes and modus vivendi from own.
Dear Sir, i would like to say, 1. to earn more information 2. to know more experiences 3. to reduce conflict about some idea 4. to solve some issues 5. to get combination of idea 6. team or group decision
to get more information, exchange ideas and expereince, checking the clarity of some research questions, some questions that are related to personality help to analyze the character and tells about what researchers have in common.
I feel the RG is a very good platform for exchanging knowledge with the researchers across the world. Q & A section creates an effective passage for this. Raising RG questions certainly provide guidance to us particularly to the youngsters.
The questioners and responders both are benefited from the raising questions:
Questioners – Get valuable knowledge on the topics of interest, different views and styles of explanations on a particular problem from various experts, sometimes a knowledge or information which is not available in the existing literature, guidance to frame a research problem and the way to progress (particularly Masters/Ph.D. students and new researchers).
Responders – Learning is a continuous process; it never ends. The experts, who are providing valuable comments, are also learning. They are getting scope to read or recapitulate a subject, to examine their level of answer on a particular question and to enhance or enrichment of knowledge.
I agree with all the answers mentioned earlier by respected RG colleagues. I would like to add that soft skills can be developed through this interaction.
