Blended learning , integrating face to face teaching by mobile applications can benefit learners in several ways. First, by using digital technology, teacher-learner and peer to peer interactions become available . Second, it provides a kind of serendipity learning because it creates various opportunities for self discovery. Last but not least, it provides a new style of learning whereby shy and introvert students can use their preferred style and have a more active participation.
If the participants can use it for the purpose for which it was intended it could have immense benefits being portable and flexible. If people (adolescents and adults) abuse it to check their Facebook likes, indulge in idle chats and in mischievous behaviors then that is detraction from the original purpose. You may think that adults are mature, self-regulating and sensible but that is not necessarily the case: some are addicted to technology and behave as badly as incorrigible children!
Whatever we agree or not, digital media is forcing itself in every arena of life, our role is how to get the best from the pros of that, and get rid of the cons.
This applies to using mobile media in education, interesting researches about that are in progress.
The advantage I think that using the mobile device in teaching helps in term of faster patients and teachers' communication and let the teaching especially for the children as smart as possible and helps them to develop their thinking and useful for their brain
On the other hand there are some disadvantages like allow the student to use it in illegal use like hackers and stealing the private information like exams' question

Like any other technology, cell phones enter the learning area. It's not good if they begin to use non-selective because it will be counterproductive. Students need to learn to think, and other methods and teaching aids are needed.

i severely agree with the use of mobile or any other types of technology in teaching process providing that we use them in the right path and properly. we can download and save lots of pdf,audio,video and other types of books and files in our phones and assist ourselves to be updated. another advantage of mobiles is that they are friendly and easy to use.

My personal opinion - yes I agree with the use of mobile devices in classrooms but am minded that they can be a distraction both in terms of learner focus and also, even when used correctly, they can detract from the skills /information /knowledge being learnt.
I totally go along. In modernity, everything has been changed and of course, education in general has followed a new style and new methods. Visual aid, Audible aid, and Technology have its own influential characteristics on the process of learning. Teachers and Students here should be collaborated in order to achieve the main goal.
Many students are spending a lot of time on their smart phones and they are very efficient in using their applications.I think it worth a try to deliver a part of the learning material through the applications of smartphones .I find it difficult to tell what are the benefist and hazards unless confirmed by research results and feedback.

i always used to give lectures in the classical sense. Because the lively lecture, which sometimes also takes spontaneous thoughts into account, is more education-friendly than any power point representation.
I agree! They are portable, easy to carry around, and most students nowadays enjoy using them. It is an enjoyable and motivational way of learning. However, it should be integrated with other ways of learning as well. Mobile media in teaching can be encouraged as long as it serves the learning objective / promote learning / reduce total cost of learning minus off the negative effects e.g. distraction to concentration, disruption to others' learning in class room-based environment etc.
Yes, but a major point should be consider, utilising mobile media in teaching and learning has witnessed many issues such as, the technical imbalance, and students’ use of it for non-study purposes.
For today’s EFL learners whose milieu is replete with electronic, visual, and digital materials, the integration of the pertinent multimedia resources such as embedded videos, audio tracks and still visual images can facilitate learning processes. Clearly, the use of such multimodal materials are of great importance because they not only provide an opportunity for different learners with various learning styles to choose a way of learning that most suit them, but also serve as a strong motivating factor for learners and make the language learning process more enjoyable. Definitely we might find side effects. But there are side effects in every thing. So, the studies showed that teaching via mobile is effective and we should build on those ones.For the side effects, we can study how to avoid them.
Usage of mobile media can be an effective tool for andragogy which is adult focus teaching and learning. Because, most adult learners come from life experience, not from academic experience. On the other hand, some other adult learners may come back to studies a long time after. In that sense, I recommend using mobile media to flourish their thought processes and blend their learning with life experience. I practically use such methods for adult learners.
However, I do not encourage anyone to use such media for minors who can limit their thought processes. Nevertheless, we can allow them to use such media for research purposes that collect information for better understandings.
