There are some news about repeated infection of COVID 19. RT-PCR test result becomes positive for the second time after recovering from the disease. There may be a chance that the presence of RNA fragments of disintegrated/non viable virus that is detected by RT-PCR test which leads to the misconception of repeated infection. Immune system needs time to clear off the viral load and its associated contents from the body. The time required varies depending on several factors viz. individual immunity, genetic factor. It can only be confirmed by assaying the replication ability or infectivity of the virus isolated from those patients.
In the Chinese province of Hubei a person who was considered cured months ago after a SARS-CoV-2 infection and now has tested positive again for Covid-19. All of her contact persons are not infected.

I am an authority in Viral latency and I can assure you that re-infection happens.. i have a paper in line almost completed which preprint would be available in the coming days.. and yes.. it is not fragments of uncleared viral RNA, it is actually a reinfection. The covid 19 virus has been behaving strangely and defying all known immunology ethics.
Documentation of several cases of reinfection by SARS Co-V2 obviously raises the question whether the reinfection occurs with the same strain of the virus or the mutated strain ? Is there any other explanation for such short lived immunity to this virus ?
