I have been trying to run a DPV experiment using modified Glassy carbon electrode as the working electrode, Pt as the counter and Ag/AgCl as the reference. Before modifying the electrode, I have polished it, sonicated it with ethanol and cleaned it with cyclic voltammetry in 0.5 M sulfuric acid solution. Then I have drop-casted the m,material I am trying to work on, with nafion coating subsequently. Now if I run DPV on the GCE dipped in 0.1 M ABS or 1X PBS, I am seeing a broad but low amplitude peak even in the absence of my analyte species. Can anyone help me to understand what might be happening and how to reduce this peak?
