I have worked with the DMSO solution. I used to mix my herbal extract from Cornus capitata plant to dissolve it completely and we used to check its lethality. We used just the extract and the just the DMSO to check its lethality and found that DMSO is really toxic. We had used the concentration ranging from 0.1 to 1 %.
So, in my experience, the dose of the DMSO has to be kept minimal.

I have been using DMSO at levels less than 0.1% for the highest concentration of the drug dissolved, however, since I am dealing with natural drugs I have encountered that under observation of microscope there are undissolved particles in the drug solution made in PBS or in the culture medium both, is there anyway to get rid of it......I normally store my stock solution made in DMSO at 4oC. I also would like to ask in the forum as to storage life of such stock solutions.
