In the lab we always use culture plates (33, 60, 100, 150mm) for passing cells and conducting all sorts of experiments. I wonder what is the perks of using cell culture plates v.s. flasks? Should I use flasks in any conditions?
With flasks, you can dislodge adherent cells by adding trypsin, then smacking the flask sharply. Then you don't have to scrape the cells to subculture them. Flasks are also just easier to handle than plates. If you want to collect cells by scraping, plates are better.
