Hi,

I am trying to confirm whether or not a protein interacts with a non-protein substrate. The problem is that the substrate is an active form of a vitamin, but it is not a protein. I can get a purified form of the substrate but I'm debating if there are any experiments that can be done.

We were thinking of an Elisa-type experiment where the wells would be coated in a resin containing our substrate (rather than a capture antibody), then adding lysates and seeing if our protein of interest is binding it. I couldn't find any literature on this so any advice would be appreciated, even if it's just letting me know I'm out to lunch.

Thanks!
