In my lab we have a Scion GC-MS system running MS workstation 8. I have checked all connection points, replaced both filaments (EI module), and even replaced the GC trap filter. Whenever I have tried to run the Autotune, it fails early and returns the error: Instrument failed to tune - too few ions to count. I am running out of ideas on what to do to overcome this issue.
Has anyone encountered a similar problem, and if so what did you do to overcome it?

You better speak with the vendor and their engineers should be able to give some thoughts.
