Hello. I am conducting an experiment in which cells are treated with forskolin by concentration. The concentration in the picture is 100 uM, and we observed crystal-like floating. My professor says it's fungal contamination, but from what I've found, fungal contamination was more like a thread than a crystal. Anyone who knows about this would appreciate if you could share your knowledge.

Martina Franchini Hello, in my case, I used it at a lower concentration or mixed it with the culture medium and filtered it through the filter. In my opinion, it is not contamination, and forskolin itself is less soluble in solvents at high concentrations, or crystallization as shown in the photo when the temperature is low. I tried using the filter down, but there was no big difference in the results. I'm not sure if the method I used is appropriate for your application. Hope this helps.
Hi. you might not heat cell culture medium properly. The things o your flask looks like undissolved vitamin or l glutamine. You may try heat culture medium properly.

Nazlıcan Yürekli thank you a lot for your feedback. I normally let the medium warm up at RT or, if I am in hurry, I place it at 37 degrees for some minutes. How would you tackle the problem?
Martina Franchini , hi, for me I never use cell culture medium since it reaches 37 degrees because of the activation of ingradiners ens to prevent stress. So, I dont see any crystals. sometimes l glutamine can cause this kind of crystals . If you let your medium since it reaches 37 degrees, you will see that most of the crystals will be dissolved.
