Why isn't the weakened form of the coronavirus injected as a vaccine instead of producing the vaccine using its recombinant proteins?
What do you mean by the weakened form of the coronavirus? Is it a strain with low virulence?
Who will be the person who will be dare enough to volunteer to be injected with such a vaccine without animal and initial human studies?
I think NOBODY!
Of course not, because this cause to transmission the infection with virus.
What do you mean with weakened form of virus? And what is the method of attenuation?
It's a good idea but it needs lots of volunteers to ensure the success the practice at the same time accept the consequences, if it happens

Chinese COVID-19 vaccine is being tested on health care workers in Brazil in the phase 3 trial. Two doses in the form of IM injection over a period of 3 months (1).
India has done a deal with Astra-Zeneca the launcher of Oxford vaccine. In India the vaccine will be available for Indian rupees 1000 ($ 14-15), whether per injection or two doses not clear (2).

There were very positive clinical trials taking place in the UK. However, to quote the link below:
