This is possibly contentious but the symptoms of the Zika virus have close similarities to measles (rubeola) and rubella infections and congenital abnormalities in foetuses.
Is there a possibility that a mosquito has drawn blood from a mother or child who has been in contact with the recombinant MMR II vaccine? Is there any work on this, or any possibility that there could be a link?
Yes we agree, majority of the clinical symptoms of Zika are like Measles/ Rubella. However, there is need to perform serological/ molecular testing on the clinical specimens subjected to routine measles/ rubella diagnosis. So lot more need to done on this aspect before jumping to any conclusions.
Your second question seems to be irrelevant.
Zika virus = Flaviridae
Measles virus = Paramyxoviridae
Rubella virus = Togaviridae
Related in that they are RNA viruses and are linked to diseases or pathology in neonates or infants.
These viruses are not related in term of genome excepted their RNA nature as stated by Matthew. Symptoms and target (host) are not first ranked taxonomic criteria, used by veterinary/MD... Check ICTV for more details. First to consider : nature of the genome, then its replication mechanism (Baltimore 1970), then its morphology, then.... and lastly maybe symptoms etc

E.G. tumor inducing viruses could have a DNA genome (HPV, EBV) or RNA (HCV, HTLV) or respiratory viruses (orthomyxoviruses [minus stranded RNAs] ->flu - Picornaviridae (+stranded RNA) or Adenoviruses (DNA)...
