I will run an experiment where reaction time will be the dependent variable, tested in 2 conditions (with the same participants). I want to control for a confounding variable (individual skills). Can I use an ANCOVA to do this? I have read about ANCOVA not being appropriate because it's a between-subject design, but I am not entirely sure I understand all the subtleties behind this requirement.
