If a drug is administered intraperitoneally in a mouse could it have access to the subcutaneus fat pad directly? instead of  first being absorbed into mesenteric vessels--> portal vein--> liver and then systemic circulation--> adipose tissue. Anatomically is the epidydimal fat pad inside the peritoneal cavity or outside? Even if it is outside , could an intraperitoneal drug access it directly? Any help comments are most welcome.

Regards
