As draft genomes are not truly (100%) presenting physiological or genetic properties of an organisms. I am reviewing literature but in many cases, whole genomes are used.
my question is can we use draft genomes for comparison?
One other thing what you mentioned, physiological property can't be completely accessed by the completeness of genome. Even for many organisms with complete genome sequences, we don't know much about the functional properties.
Or what physiological/genetic properties do you refer here?
You mentioned many cases, could you give a few examples?
Thank you Abhijeet Singh for answering. I got the answer, I characterized a newly isolated lactic acid bacteria and it shows most of the probiotic-related traits. I did draft genome sequencing and now want to compare its genome with other probiotics, not probiotic bacteria.
