AI-driven technologies offer previously unheard-of capabilities to process enormous volumes of data, extract insightful knowledge and improve predictive models, according to the UN’s World Meteorological Organization (WMO). That means improved modelling and predicting climate change patterns that can help communities and authorities to draft effective adaptation and mitigation strategies.

AI has significant potential to help address climate change and environmental pollution through various technological solutions, including:
1. **Energy Management**: Optimizing energy consumption in industries and homes, and improving renewable energy production and storage.
2. **Climate Modeling**: Enhancing the accuracy of climate models to predict and mitigate adverse effects.
3. **Pollution Monitoring**: Detecting and reducing pollution through real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance.
4. **Sustainable Agriculture**: Increasing efficiency and reducing waste in agricultural practices.
5. **Smart Grids**: Developing intelligent energy distribution networks.
AI's ability to process vast amounts of data and generate actionable insights can drive innovations in sustainability and environmental protection.
For the next five years, the Middle East might become an uninhabitable region, prompting significant migration. Currently, at DASSAT, we are conducting a study to predict which plant types (C3 or C4) will survive or perish under the conditions of severe climate change.
Artificial intelligence holds promise in addressing climate change and environmental pollution by optimizing renewable energy, improving climate models, and enhancing efficiency across industries. However, AI alone cannot solve these complex issues. Effective solutions require a combination of technological innovation, political will, behavioral changes, and large-scale investments, with AI serving as a powerful tool to accelerate progress rather than a standalone solution.
