In general, nano particle are prepared in basic condition. could any one suggest the procedure for preparation in acidic condition.
what your starting materials? iron(II) oxide or iron(III) oxide, which one will be prepared?
For metal oxide nanoparticle synthesis we need alkaline media.
As far as no is considered for acidic pH i didn't get np but I got for alkaline one.

Really thanks for your answer Prof. Kenneth M Towe and Shen-Ming Chen. basically, i want to prepare some SPION with iron. So there is no problem in the starting materiel whether it is Fe(II) or Fe(III) i need the final products as magnetite (Fe3O4) and its oxidized form maghemite (γ-Fe2O3) . my expectation is synthesis should be carried out in acidic medium not alkaline medium.
Like jyoti mayekar response, most of the cases nano particle prepared in alkaline medium.
i have searched many articles related to nano particle synthesis and applications whether it is Co,Ni,Au,Ag,Si etc. all are prepared from alkaline medium.
so, simply, i am asking that irrespective of materials and final product ,is there any possibility to synthesis nano particle in acidic medium?.

One can not synthesize Fe2O3 in acidic media but one can synthesize Fe3o4 in acidic media as well.
