I've got a windows 7 on my PC and can't install Gene Runner on it. I searched a lot but couldn't find a software which contains all the possibilities together. Does anyone have any suggestion?
I would recommend using APE (=A Plasmid Editor, http://biologylabs.utah.edu/jorgensen/wayned/ape/) because it's free and contains all functions you will need for cloning.
When it was still free for Academia I used Vector NTI (now >500$ a year), but except for the Database function I miss nothing in APE.
Try VectorFriends at http://www.vectorfriends.com. It combines various types of cloning simulation, sequence analysis, and data management into one application.
Hi Elham. I had this problem with Win 7 and Gene Runner so I did all solution but didn't work. Finally I have reach to Win XP Mod. You can install this software on your pc then you can install everything on your PC such as Gene Runner.
You can also instal DNASIS MAX, it is very useful soft.
Someone (I really don't know who) has been maintaining and improving our good old Gene Runner and now it runs well even in Windows 10. You can download the last versión at: http://www.generunner.net
