I am planning to attach urea to the fe3o4 nanoparticle. I have already gone through a few papers and tried the sonication method to attach but was not successful. I will be pleased if someone can suggest the pathway for the synthesis. Also if possible, explain the mechanism.
My main purpose is the functionalized my nanoparticle with an amine group(Cheaper to make the whole process a cost-effective one ) for further application. Thank you

I found a paper that describes a simple one-pot method to produce superparamagnetic magnetite nanoparticles (Fe3O4), and a hybrid nanocomposite of magnetite nanoparticles decorating reduced graphene oxide (Fe3O4 –rGO) by reacting ferrous chloride with urea in water or graphene oxide–water dispersions, respectively. Another paper describes the synthesis of Fe3O4 nanoparticles using urea and ferrous chloride by means of a sonochemical approach (Urea-based synthesis of magnetite...).
I'm not sure if these methods are what you're looking for. If you could provide me with more details about the sonication method you tried, I might be able to help you better.

Thank you for your time. i also took the help of a similar paper. But unable to synthesize using the sonication method. i am looking for a wet chemical method where I can successfully attach urea to my fe3o4 nanoparticle. I hope you can help me out.

One study used a sonochemical approach to synthesize Fe3O4 nanoparticles using urea and ferrous chloride. They obtained magnetite nanocrystals when they mixed the ferrous chloride (0.001 mol/L) and urea (2 mol/L) in water at 80 °C using 50% of amplitude of an ultrasound tip for 1 hour (A Milestone in the Chemical Synth....).
