Dear all,
Recently I plan to treat cells with a transmembrane protein (32 kda) and I hope cells can uptake it.
I read some paper about cell uptaking protein and seems package it in liposomes or add a TAT sequence can make it happen.
I am just wondering, as this protein is a transmembrane protein, is it possible that cells directly uptake it without any modification?

It probably depends upon the protein itself, but for most cases I think the answer would be no that the cell won't take it up and insert it in the membrane.
