I tried to understand both The Continuum Mechanics Model and Hydrodynamic model for DNA ejection but I cannot able to draw major differences other than the osmosis involved in hydrodynamic model. I would like to know is there any other difference apart form the one mentioned?

Viral capsids in aqueous solution can be opened in vitro by addition of specific receptors, with consequent ejection of their genomes. It is possible to control the extent of the ejection by varying the osmotic pressure. In certain cases (bacteriophage λ), the ejection is inhibited by osmotic pressures comparable to those operative in the cytoplasm of host bacteria; it is suppressed by a pressure of 20 atmospheres. I am also interesting in answer on similar questions.
I may mistake, but my imagin is that classical notions (osmosis and similar) do not work here. It seems to me that the problem cannot be resolved at the level of classical physics.
