I don't know exactly how it works.  Publication downloads seem important, but they do not seem to count.  RG score is just another failed metric that we don't really need anyway, as noted by others.  It would be better to drop RG score and "impact" nonsense.  -  Cheers!

If I valued RG scoring I would have left this community a long time ago. Besides, you are already ahead of about 4200000 scientists. You are already have an achievement medal. And on top of all that. You threads are very good. Only one thread of yours had 104 answers. Lots of people have downloaded your researches and all that make sense. The problem is that I still am not sure if the scoring system makes sense.

Don't give much importance to RG score. Take it only as a number which indicate one's activity in RG (not even in your research field completely). Moreover, the calculation of RG score does not seem so transparent to us. It does not show a proportionate increase (or decrease) at several occasions.  RG score does not add almost nothing to your profile and career at present. What we should appreciate is the group of researchers we get from this website for interactions and collaborations and the platform to present our research findings before a wide group of .researchers. Please don't give too much importance for any other things in RG.

Yes dear @Qasim and all, don't bother about the score or the downvoters.  They aren't like most of us, concerned to communicate our science.  Like you, I was downvoted.  IT SEEMS THAT DOWNVOTES CANCELLED ALL THE UPVOTES WE RECEIVED, AND THE TIME WE SPENT ON QA.  So let's focus on collaborations with upvoters and positive friends.  In the end, we end up as researchers who contributed MORE TO THE PROGRESS OF SCIENCE, EDUCATION AND OUR VARIOUS FIELDS.

I do not think that it is possible to calculate RG score for the simple reason that nobody knows the real mechanism of the calculation itself. Don't worry and continue to have idea exchange and visibility to your research.

We all say it is not important to have a low score but at the end we all care about it and are very happy when our scores go up and mad when it goes down. Perhaps the least worried about is Marcel. I decided not folllow it and it was fine for me. But as some friends were praising for that, helping me to grow it took a big importance for me again. Even though I think we have a lot more to worry about. RG scores are like swear words in a foreign language. They mean nothing but if you start to use it,.. They acquire a meaning.

Sorry for friends who could not understand my comment that I wrote in Arabic. I have referred only to that I do not understand the logic of the RG score. I thought of leaving RG because my RG score has been cut ratings several times. The increase in the RG score still very low.

I never tried to calculate the RG score. But I am working continuously on RG as long as I find time. This is a constructive platform.

Let US bring back the project at RG again.  We all can work on a thead together. Today the answers have nothing to do with one another. We can work that way. One says how RG calculated. One of US will see about down votes. Another group the upvotes. We vote on the same thread a proposal about it. We can start wirh simple changes. Otherwise everybody will say he does not have time for it.

to "calculate" scores without real knowledge of algorithm is wasted time. Only one exception, you like to solve puzzles. I think we should prefer the positive aspects like your "constructive platform", exchange of thoughts and infos and last but not least the social comunication including humor under others.

I think RG administrator should answer this question.

Strictly no way to calculate, that's a specific and probably secret algorithm... No way as well to make any predictions about the the next one: sometimes it grows up, sometime it gets down. What's strange with it and that I do not understand, is the real parameters used for it. They that the number of followers counts for it but in fact I'm sure they don't take care of it...

May be, we should't pay any attention to the score. I think it isn't important (esp. when I read a very intersting article written by a researcher whose score ia almost zero). 

I don't pay any attention to RG scoring system. I don't even recall what my scores were last week or last month. Idea excahange, learning, and sharing information is what that counts most to me. Cheer up!
