I deal with ResearchGate almost on a full time basis. I keep the site open, but in the background. I respond to any messages & questions as quickly as possible. One of the reasons I am continuously engaged with RG is to boost my RG score. My personal score is more than the collective score of all my colleagues in RG from my previous organisation who are serious researchers, while I am only a freelances and undertake research as a hobby and for putting-out in Public domain. Thanks for giving me an opportunity to articulate my thoughts.
Since RG has punished those who have exceeded 5000 followings by preventing them to following more other members, I spend time in front of the platform less than before!
It really depends on my schedule. During the new year break, I had more time than normal and next week, it will get busy for me. have been active in RG for about 2-3 weeks and the amount of time ranged from 1 hour to 6 hours. I was really excited to connect with people who share my interests.
says that the internet is a disaster! Well anything you use in excess or inappropriately coukd be a disaster- eating too much food, drinking too much coke, sleeping too much, staying awake too much, etc. Self control is key to everything we do. I don’t have and will not have Facebook And it is a choice I made.
it is highly depends in my work load but 1-1:30 hours a day is my average time spent in research gate mostly to read article and providing answers to asked questions.
To me R.G is the gate for the knowledge to gain & to an experience for which it can not be calculated in t he time limit , so far as my experience is concern with R.G I spend my time in presenting my publication & also replying the question of well learned members .
If i consider in above line i required more than 3& half hrs .
There's no fixed schedule. It depends on my free time, mood and necessity. However, I spend around a hour in weekdays (most of the time) and couple of hours in weekends to read other researcher's article and update. Occasionally try to answer some questions only if it's within my expertise level.
