Currently i am culturing OVCAR3 in RPMI-1640 with 20% FBS. However they are proliferating very slowly. Can anyone suggest me a better culture condition for same?
I have worked with OVCAR-3 for 2 year and its really difficult work with this cell line if you dont have proper media. For this cell line we buy RPMI 1640 media and FBS from ATCC and it work. Use 20% FBS ( Normal ), 1% PS, 500 uL of insulin ( for 500 mL total media). I hope this helps.

RPMI 1640 + 10% (v/v) FBS + 0.01 mg/mL bovine insulin OR use Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium containing 3.7 g/l sodium bicarbonate, 4.5 g/l l-glucose and supplemented with l-glutamine (2 mM), 10% (v/v) fetal calf serum (FCS), penicillin (100 IU/ml), streptomycin (100 μg/ml) and amphotericin B (0.25 μg/ml) at 37 °C with 5% CO2 in humidified air .

I have worked with OVCAR-3 cell line. I used from DMEM/F12 Ham + GlutaMAX™-I + 10% FBS + penicillin (100 IU/ml) + streptomycin (100 μg/ml) . In this media, they are proliferating very fast. I hope this helps.
I work with OVCAR3 cell line. i use RPMI 1640 (500ml) (no glutamine) + 2mM glutamine (5ml from 200mM stock) + 20% FBS (100ml) + 500ul insulin (0.1%) + 5ml of ABAM or Pen/Strep.
