I think, You could use a carbon anhydrase IX (CAIX, for transcript or protein analysis). It is good positive control for hypoxia experiments, both in human and mouse cells. It is directly control by HIF1. You can also use GLUT1 and VEGFA. Fixed cells can be also stained with pimonidazol (protocols are easy to find in internet). Good luck :)
