Can anybody suggest species-specific primers for conventional PCR (one reaction) for detection of Chlamydophila psittaci and Mycobacterium avium in birds?
However, it is not very clear with the primers for C. psittaci: in above mentioned manuscript the primers were used for detection of C. psittaci while in original manuscript (Heddema et al., 2006) for genotyping (using PCR positive samples)...So do the primers described in Doosti manuscript fit for identification of psittaci directly from extracted samples?
as you can see from this just published paper (columba), these primers should fit directly from extracted DNA samples. Of course there are other approches, in the second paper (columba2) deLima et al. proposed an heminested PCR.
