I was recently trying crystallization trials of my protein sample in a 96-well Corning plate. In one well of an experiment, some phase separations emerged after the 4th day of dispensing the plate. This phase separation went on to form crystals. However, they look like salt crystals and emerged after almost 2 months post dispensing the plate. The well had lithium sulfate monohydrate as a salt. Has anyone encountered such a case? How common is this phenomenon of getting a hit after a couple of months?
