I'm looking to the best method to extract both RNA and DNA from the same sample (mice brain tissues). Sometimes we just separate the tissue in the 2 hemisphere, but this is not the case.

I tryed the TriReagent extraction, but it worked only for RNA.

Thus I'm looking to a commercially available kit that give the best results in terms of quantity and quality. I would expect nucleic acids extraction to have lower yield, but enough good quality (compared to TriReagent).

What would you recommend for mice brain tissue based on your experience?

If necessary, nucleic acids clean up (e.g. DNAse digestion of contaminating gDNA in the RNA sample) can be done separately, if good yields are achieved during extraction.

Thanks in advance for any help!!
