Hi folks,
I prep a lot of protein. I currently use B-PER for lysis, but it starts getting really expensive when prepping from large culture volume. For example, protein prep from 4-6 L worth of bacteria requires ~150 ml.
It seem to be 10 mM Tris pH 7.4 + a proprietary mix of non-ionic detergents/solubilization reagents. Do you think using Tris + 1% Tween20 would do the trick?

Hi Nathan, I used NP40 in my lysis buffer and it improved the lysis. If it does not effect your down stream experiments you can also try.
