Dear all,

I am about to analyze my XPS data with a variation of polar angle (people call this technique as XPD or x-ray photoelectron diffraction). So now I have a graph of intensity against polar angle. The thing is the intensities go down so steep (start from 3000 a.u. to almost 0 a.u). Then I think to perform linear background subtraction. My doubt comes when the value of background intensities change with polar angles. I am thinking that I can average the value of background intensities as they vary from 1600 a.u. to 2200 a.u. Is my thought acceptable?

Thank you very much in advance.

Best Regards,

Efi
