I performed a charge-discharge test on a half-cell battery. I was wondering because the capacity net zero at the beginning of the test. The Open circuit voltage shows the typical values of the other half-cells I prepared. If I calculated the difference between the initial capacity (around 400 mAh/g) and the final capacity, the result showed a similar capacity for a half cell with the same parameters that I previously prepared.

What technical possibilities led to the initial capacity becoming not zero?
