In the course of exploring cDNA data from an annelid transcriptome, I have come across what looks like a dicistronic mRNA. I am now verifying that the two CDSs that seem to be on the same mRNA strand are actually linked in the genome at that distance. If this turns out to be real, are there known examples of a dicistronic mRNA in annelids? Or is this more likely an artifact of the transcriptome process? One interested fact is that the two CDS are very similar and it looks like they arose from tandem duplication. Thanks.
