Human cells produce a wide variety of cytokines that are unique to humans. For instance, IL-9, IL-15, IL-17E (IL-25), and IL-31 are all cytokines that only humans produce. The exact pattern of cytokine production can vary between individuals and populations because cytokines are complex molecules whose production is influenced by many factors, including genetic and environmental ones.
