Are adenohypophysis cells and other related secretory cells (such as gonadotroph) neurons or are they different kinds of endocrine cells?

I often read "gonadotroph neurons" but I also saw a review (see underneath) that clearly mention that "gonadotroph are not neurons" so I am trying to clear my mind on it.

Thank you for your help !

Edit: thank you for your answer. I was confused about gonadotroph (cells secreting LH and FSH from the adenohypophysis) and gonadotropin-releasing neurons (releasing GnRH) which soma are in the hypothalamus but they project to the adenohypophysis.
