Hi good day to everyone. Recently i'm trying to construct a 2D model using Autodesk Simulation CFD but i failed so i wish to get some guidelines from you all on how to create the 2D model in CFD.
Hi Fernando Zorto, thank you for answering my question. I try to draw 2D in Solidworks but after i import into CFD, a message jump out saying that ' Conversion from imported geometry to analysis model failed'. What does it meant? Thank you so much for your help.
Hi Chungkaryee, try to convert the file in .STEP or .IGES, because you used the native archive of Solidwork so maybe Autodesk Simulation CFD can´t read the archive. Try to do that or try to do a Autodesk inventor sketch to export at Autodesk Simulation.
I will offer a possible issue based on using Solidworks as the CAD package and an older version of Simulation CFD. Under that scenario, the 2D model has to be based on the Front plane. If it is drawn using the Top or Side planes it fails on import to the CFD software.
Thank you so much to all of you !!! I finally can import the model into CFD but now facing the problem of setup. My 2D model is in rectangular shape (cylindrical shape combustion chamber in 3D). I want to test the temperature contour that occur inside that chamber. So i want to ask:
1) What should i set for the material? (fluid inside the chamber or material of chamber such as steel).
2) What should i set for the boundary condition ? (temperature/heat flux/others)
