Currently running simulation using ANSYS fluent with time step size = 0.01 and number of time steps = 360000. (In reality i have to carry out the process in 1 hour, so 360000 times 0.01 equal 3600s which is one 1 hour.)
Hi, You have not mentioned the error. What is the error? 1 hour is massive, probably the result will be diverged at the end. Why do you need to simulate your problem for 1 hour?
First of all you should provide the analysis type. For error, you have to check the type of error in error file. Then depending upon your error, you have to check the following:
1. Element type used 2. Boundary conditions 3. Modelling and meshing and 4. Criteria used (i.e. small or large structural displacement, ) 5. Consistent units and finally check the disk space & memory which are the main requirement for large transient analysis.
Hi, thank you for the reply. The error message is "Collection was modified; enumeration operation may not execute". My objective is to analyze the temperature contour inside a reactor and the process must be carry out at least one hour. Now, I change my time steps to 0.1s, number of time steps to 36000 and max iteration/ time step to 10. The rest i just set it default. Meshing size i set to medium. But the simulation took 11 hours and now still haven't complete.
