Any clue of what turns formic acid in a SO uncommon solvent? Doesn't fit any usual solvent descriptor/solubility relation for some of my compounds.?

Formic acid dissolves systematically a lot of my compounds (usually poorly soluble in common solvents). After trying to find what property makes it so different I gave up. There is no apparent reason for this. Any reference about this specific acid as a solvent please?
