Avian embryos (while still in the shell) were exposed to hepatocarcinogens. Hepatocyte isolation by collagenase. In culture, over time, these “monsters” appear. Although by now the focus of my work has shifted to the regulatory world, i.e. getting new medicines authorized, I still wonder what this is.

Harald, when culturing e.g., 3T3Fibroblats, similar "monsters" appear from time to time. They are considered to be senescent cells. Sometimes, they have several nuclei, which appear rather large and flat, however.
Do you think your observation is rather a single cell having problems dividing (and thus accumulating nuclei), or rather an aggregate?
