I am looking for some numbers of amino acid concentrations in intracellular compartments of mammalian cells (cytosol, endosome, lysosome,...). Extensive Google and Pubmed searches gave me a lot of information on different transport systems, but it seems hard to find any numbers for abundance and concentration of different species in different compartments.
It would be great if anybody could recommend papers that actually have quantitative data.
Cytosolic concentration varies with type of AA, nutrient availability, type of tissue, and metabolic activity.
You may consider:
0.5-5 mM for aromatic and large aliphatic AAs and up to 2-40 mM for dispensable AAs
in trophic organelles it will change from very low in earlier EV (e.g. extracellular or plasma level) to very high (>cytosolic) in late ES-LS hybrid.
