If the gene sequence for a specific gene (e.g., Asparaginase) is not found in the NCBI database, how can explore alternative strategies to identify and obtain the gene sequence in the organism of interest?

Sabine Strehl I think Nida Shahzad is wanting the asparaginase gene for one particular species, and not finding it in GenBank yet. Your link is to the mRNA form the Homo sapiens gene, but she may want the E. coli asparaginase gene, or maybe an insect asparaginase gene.
Brian Thomas Foley well that's possible, but without knowing the species Nida Shahzad, it will be difficult to help.
